On the Needles Friday

Camp Loopy Project #3 started today and I was able to get a start on my Color Affection before work this morning.  This projects requirements are:  knit a pattern you have never done, use 2 or more colors of yarn and use a minimum of 500 yards.  I am using Cascade Heritage Sock in Mango, Mossy Rock and Plum.
Also on another set of needles is my West Knits Mystery Shawl which is now on hold until my Color Affection is done.  I just started clue #2 a couple of days ago and only have 3 rows done before stopping.

And here is a picture of my Stripe Study Shawl for Camp Loopy Project #2 after blocking.  It block out to a nice large size of 74" x 34" at the peak.

Take a minute and stop over at Patchwork Times and see what others have on their Needles.

So much to knit so little time - wish I could stay home and knit today.

Another Knitting Post

I received my 'Box of Fun' from The Loopy Ewe yesterday with my goodies for the West Knits Mystery KAL and for my Camp Loopy Project #3 plus more Fixation yarn for my winter bed socks.

For the West Knits Mystery KAL I am using Madelinetosh Light in Amber Trinket and Cascade Heritage Sock in Plum.  The KAL started last Friday but I am finishing up my Camp Loopy Project #2 before I start but will need to stop any progress on the 27th to start the third project for Camp Loopy.

I use a color wheel allot when choosing color combinations especially for borders on scrap quilts.  I had ordered 2 skeins of the plum yarn so I would be sure I would not run short on the West Knits KAL and would use the remainder for my Color Affection for my third Camp Loopy project.

So with purple as the one of the colors the wheel the complimentary colors on the wheel where orange and green.

My colors for my Color Affection are Mango, Mossy Rock and Plum all Cascade Heritage Yarn.

And my other goodies ordered actually got me free shipping.

This will definitely keep my busy for awhile.

Design Wall Monday

Look familiar - look down a couple of posts.

Stop over at Patchwork Times to see what other Quilters have on their Design Wall.

I will try harder next week.

On the Needle Friday

Making progress on my Stripe Study Shawl.  I had to end the stripes with the 11th one because I would not have had enough yarn for the 12th stripe.  Started the border yesterday - nothing but long rows now!  So far I have knit approximately 650 yards of the 800 yard requirement for this Camp Loopy Project.  My goal is to have the shawl finished by next Friday but still a long way to go and then the never ending bindoff.

My first post today includes my upcoming knitting projects West Knits Mystery (which starts today but I am not) and Camp Loopy Project #3 (starts on July 27th)

Take a minute and stop over at Patchwork Times and see what others have on their Needles.

Happily knitting along.

New Knitting Projects

My next two knitting projects planned are West Knits Mystery Shawl and Camp Loopy Project #3.

West Knits Mystery starts today but I will not until I finish my Camp Loopy Project #2.  Also I can't start it until I receive my yarn which I just ordered yesterday - definitely on purpose so I wouldn't get tempted to start.  The yarn I purchased for the Mystery Shawl is Madelinetosh Light in Amber Trinket color way and Cascade Heritage Sock in Plum.

I spent all yesterday morning shopping The Loopy Ewe trying to select my yarn for my Camp Loopy Project #3 plus trying to decide on what I was going to knit.  So after spending the morning adding yarn to my cart and then deleting it I finally decided on knitting Color Affection Shawl using Cascade Heritage Sock in Mango, Moss Rock and Plum.  CL #3 starts on July 27th with the requirements of using at least 2 different colors and knitting at least 500 yards.

My knitting is now planned through most of August.

Design Wall Monday

Last week I challenged myself to get 5 quilts finished - the only thing left to do was the binding.
Here is my stack comparison of my progress.

Only 2 more to go then I can start a new quilt or work on a UFO's.
Here are my completions for the week.

On the Needles Friday

I am now on my 9th stripe of my Stripe Study Shawl with only 3 more to go but the rows are getting soo long - really enjoy the break with the short rows but those end soo quickly.
Last week my goal was to finish the first skein of the lighter blue yarn this week, I am going to declare the goal was met with only a couple of yards left to that skein.

Big goal for next week is to finish all the stripes and start on the border.

Design Wall Monday

I have completed quilting both my Goose Chase Quilt and my Many Trips Quilt.  Both quilts are trimmed and are ready for the binding.
As I look back through recent months I have no actual finishes - allot of close but not done.
So I have challenged myself to a binding marathon and to move these UFOs to Finally Finished.
I have moved these five quilts I need to bind to my cutting table and will not start another quilt until these are done (maybe).

Take a minute and stop over at Patchwork Times to checkout what other Quilters have on their Design Wall.
