On (and Off) the Needles Friday.

On Monday I finished my Color Affection.  What a great summer at Camp Loopy, I can't believe what I was able to finish.  I never thought I could knit over 800 yards in a month but I did it - twice!

Now I am back at my West Knits Mystery Shawl, which is no longer a mystery.  I am still working on Clue #2 and hope to be on the 3rd clue by next Friday.

On the Needles Friday

Still working on my Color Affection but I am nearing the end - only 11 more rows on the border and then on to the never ending bindoff.

Already looking forward to my next knitting project.  I was able to get Lorna's Laces Sock in the London '12 colorway that they dyed in celebration for the Olympics.  I ordered it from Jimmy Beans Wool and their promotion during the Olympics was to deduct money from the price for each of the medal the US won.  The promo deducted 5 cents for gold, 3 cents for silver and penny for bronze - so I was able to save $3.46 on the skein.  I have decided to knit Summer Wind Cowl with it.

But before I start the cowl I must finish my West Knits Shawl.

Take a minute and stop over at Patchwork Times and see what others have on their Needles.
Off to work today.

On the Needles Friday

Camp Loopy Project #3 started today and I was able to get a start on my Color Affection before work this morning.  This projects requirements are:  knit a pattern you have never done, use 2 or more colors of yarn and use a minimum of 500 yards.  I am using Cascade Heritage Sock in Mango, Mossy Rock and Plum.
Also on another set of needles is my West Knits Mystery Shawl which is now on hold until my Color Affection is done.  I just started clue #2 a couple of days ago and only have 3 rows done before stopping.

And here is a picture of my Stripe Study Shawl for Camp Loopy Project #2 after blocking.  It block out to a nice large size of 74" x 34" at the peak.

Take a minute and stop over at Patchwork Times and see what others have on their Needles.

So much to knit so little time - wish I could stay home and knit today.

Another Knitting Post

I received my 'Box of Fun' from The Loopy Ewe yesterday with my goodies for the West Knits Mystery KAL and for my Camp Loopy Project #3 plus more Fixation yarn for my winter bed socks.

For the West Knits Mystery KAL I am using Madelinetosh Light in Amber Trinket and Cascade Heritage Sock in Plum.  The KAL started last Friday but I am finishing up my Camp Loopy Project #2 before I start but will need to stop any progress on the 27th to start the third project for Camp Loopy.

I use a color wheel allot when choosing color combinations especially for borders on scrap quilts.  I had ordered 2 skeins of the plum yarn so I would be sure I would not run short on the West Knits KAL and would use the remainder for my Color Affection for my third Camp Loopy project.

So with purple as the one of the colors the wheel the complimentary colors on the wheel where orange and green.

My colors for my Color Affection are Mango, Mossy Rock and Plum all Cascade Heritage Yarn.

And my other goodies ordered actually got me free shipping.

This will definitely keep my busy for awhile.

New Knitting Projects

My next two knitting projects planned are West Knits Mystery Shawl and Camp Loopy Project #3.

West Knits Mystery starts today but I will not until I finish my Camp Loopy Project #2.  Also I can't start it until I receive my yarn which I just ordered yesterday - definitely on purpose so I wouldn't get tempted to start.  The yarn I purchased for the Mystery Shawl is Madelinetosh Light in Amber Trinket color way and Cascade Heritage Sock in Plum.

I spent all yesterday morning shopping The Loopy Ewe trying to select my yarn for my Camp Loopy Project #3 plus trying to decide on what I was going to knit.  So after spending the morning adding yarn to my cart and then deleting it I finally decided on knitting Color Affection Shawl using Cascade Heritage Sock in Mango, Moss Rock and Plum.  CL #3 starts on July 27th with the requirements of using at least 2 different colors and knitting at least 500 yards.

My knitting is now planned through most of August.
