Camp Loopy

Received my order from The Loopy Ewe today and it was full of surprises.  I am now an official Loopy Groupie!  My package today was full of goodies:  vinyl project bag, pattern, calendar and a skein from Mountain Colors.

Along with all the goodies I also received what I ordered.  The blue yarn is Cascade Heritage Silk and along with the beads is for my Camp Loopy Project One.  I will be knitting Hogwarts Express shawl, this will be my first beaded project - but it will only be about 58 beads.

And since I had a $25 credit I used that toward 5 skeins of Cascade Pima - a cotton yarn, and with it I will be knitting (in my spare time) Spring Showers cardigan.  The yarn is a nice neutral color and will be great to have a work.

Great day, nice suprises.

Design Floor Monday

I reached last week goal of having half my Orca Bay together.  Now I am working on the next quarter and my forward progress is about to slow down.  Since I increased the size of the quilt to a queen size I need to make more blue strip blocks and the wings for the flying geese.  My plans are to get this section done by the weekend - maybe.

And to celebrate my progress on Orca Bay I started my next quilt.  This quilt is a throw size with 20 of these blocks.  I have completed all the centers and all the pieces came from my 'crumb and strip' drawers.

Unfortunately back to work today - 'sad' - I want to sew instead.

Orca Bay Progress

I am making great progress on my Orca Bay, I have the center of the top half done - hopefully will reach my goal of having the top done by the end of May.
I added extra blocks to increase the size of the quilt to a queen size to use in our 5th wheel camper otherwise I would have been done.
Now that my vacation is almost over my forward progress will start to slow.

Now to see if I can get something else done before Monday but not sure what.

Bad News - The water temp is 68 degrees.
Good News - The temps are going to be in the 90's the next few days so that will warm up the water.
Bad News - It will be in the 90's the next few days and it's only May 3rd!

Confessions

My cutting table is a mess!  It holds 2 quilts in progress (Orca Bay and RRCB), plus bits and strips from the last couple of projects, fabric I'm collecting for another quilt (don't remember which one), I think a couple of DVD's and the box from my 1st Kindle (don't know why I am keeping it).

Just as bad is my ironing board.
I need a day just dedicated to cleaning.

That's all I'm admitting to - right now.

May Knitting Project

I started my May knitting project on April 30th - the pattern is called Favorite Scarf Ever and the yarn I am using is Knit Picks Imagination Gingerbread House.  I do like the yarn but I do not love it but I do love the colors in this painted yarn.  The pattern is an easy knit and across 45 stitches goes rather quickly.

Here I am knitting a scarf thinking of cooler weather on these 80 degree days and it's only May 1st.
